Hop Latent Viroid
Hop Latent Viroid spreads quietly, often without symptoms, and can seriously damage a crop. We use an extremely sensitive qPCR assay to identify HLVd before it does.
The latent nature of the viroid means you have to test and retest through the growth cycle to know plants are still clean. Combined with proper sanitation and handling, a strict testing regimen is the best way to keep a grow clean and stop HLVd spreading.
If you run a nursery, we recommend testing all mother stock monthly. That keeps mother stock clean and stops potentially infected cuttings leaving and spreading HLVd through your grow.
If you are a cultivator, batch test through the grow. Sample clones at four to five nodes of growth, then retest at least 30 days later to demonstrate cleanliness through the vegetative phase.
