Terpenes
We perform quantitative terpenoid profiling by headspace gas chromatography with flame-ionization detection, across 23 terpenes.
Terpenes are naturally occurring compounds responsible for the aromas, flavors and even colors associated with plants. They are produced in the trichomes, the same glands that produce cannabinoids, and they can have synergistic effects with cannabinoids when consumed together.
There are more than 100 different terpenes in the plant, and they can be broadly classified as sweet, sour, spicy or bitter.
